Terminator: Dark Fate (The Game) is the official, free-to-play, real-time strategy war game based on the 2019 feature film Terminator: Dark Fate, written by David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes and Billy Ray, directed by Tim Miller, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna and Mackenzie Davis, produced by Skydance Media in association with The Terminator franchise creator James Cameron.

Players start out in the game as new recruits in “The Resistance” under some of the main characters from the film, who will interact with the player during various assignments and combat missions. The game’s story was written by Best-selling science-fiction writer Steven-Elliot Altman and explores the future war where the human resistance fights to survive against a future dominated by sentient machines.

It’s the year 2041 and humans battle for survival against the machines and their fellow survivors for limited resources. Hunter-Killers patrol the sky and Terminator robots roam the ruins. Build your Resistance Base and raise an army to save the future as you battle enemies from across the world in real-time! You can’t defeat the machines on your own, so call your allies to unite with you on your quests and battles. Remember, the future is not yet set, so it’s up to you to do your part in The Resistance efforts as you race to defeat the machines.

The Goal: Firefly Games needed a writer for their videogame based on Skydance’s upcoming feature film, the 6th installment in The Terminator franchise.

Social Impulse partnered with Firefly Games, and contracted best-selling author and award-winning videogame writer Steven-Elliot Altman to pen the script. Already a huge Terminator fan,Steve was delighted to be involved. He was invited toSkydance’s offices in Santa Monica to read the shooting script of the upcoming film, then immersed himself in Terminator franchise cannon, and prepared a story treatment that he hoped would fit the proposed game mechanics and also feel at home within this well-established universe. He then garnered approval from the studio, and turned in an approved script under a tight deadline to allow the game to release simultaneously with the film during its opening weekend.Aside from the story, Steve’s responsibilities also included oversight of the game’s User-Interface directions and key artwork.

Investigate real declassified sightings along with Dr. Hynek (Aidan Gillen from GAME OF THRONES) and Captain Quinn (Michael Malarkey from THE VAMPIRE DIARIES) in this free-to-play hidden object game based on The History Channel's hit television series, PROJECT BLUE BOOK, created by David O’Leary and produced by A+E Studios along with Academy Award Winning director Robert Zemeckis (BACK TO THE FUTURE, ROMANCING THE STONE, FORREST GUMP and WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?) with the game story written by bestselling SciFi author Steven-Elliot Altman!

The Goal: A+E Studioswanted to build a videogame based on their popular TV series.

Social Impulse partnered with Three Gates AB, a Swedish Videogame developer, and contracted best-selling author and award-winning videogame writer Steven-Elliot Altman to pen the script, and assume both narrative designer and executive producer status on the game. Together with Three Gates, we created the Game Design Document, garnered approval from the Network, and licensed the property with A+E as our partners. The game was developed and launched into Beta in an unheard of 4 months. Steve’s duties ranged from shepherding script approvals from both A+E Studios and A+E Legal and acting as liaison between the game’s developers and A+E Networks. Everyone at Social Impulse did their share; but Julie Marsh was particularly instrumental on this project as she was tasked with writing a fair portion of the clues that are found in-game.

Abduct primitive humans and manipulate their DNA in this free-to-play city-builder game based on The History Channel's hit television series and written by bestselling SciFi author Steven-Elliot Altman!

The Goal: A+E Networks had begun work on a city-builder game based on the popular TV series but had no story or narrative design.

Social Impulse contracted best-selling author and award-winning videogame writer Steven-Elliot Altman to create a story, pen the script, and assume both narrative designer and executive producer status on the game. Steve’s duties ranged from shepherding script approvals from both Prometheus Entertainment and A+E Legal, overseeing third party vendors for outsourced art and sound, marketing efforts, and acting as liaison between the game’s developers and A+E Networks.Everyone at Social Impulse did their share; but Josh Levitan was particularly instrumental on this project as he was tasked with evaluating the game’s economy and making improvements to both onboarding and monetization.

The Goal: Entropia Universe wanted more players.

Social Impulse provided a solution by creating an “Ambassador’s Club” for Mindark, which helped them go viral on social media by turning their most avid fans into Brand Ambassadors. Our white-branded Player Acquisition Platform utilizes proprietary Facebook enterprise software to provide custom designed badges, leader boards, in-game events, forums, add-a-friend programs, screenshot contests, couponing, and sweepstakes. A system where players could push out video trailers and other selected content to their friends in order to earn points they could later exchange for valuable in-game merchandise; seamlessly transferred to the Players inventory by allowing both the app and the game to communicate via API.
